I am working with a boutique communications agency that is seeking an Associate Director to join the firm due to continued growth. This agency has a strong presence across in political and consumer communications, working with blue chip organisations on a three core areas of communications including

Digital Strategy

Crisis Communications

Campaign Delivery

This is a critical hire and will sit as 1 of 3 associate directors in the business and is seen as part of the leadership team.

The successful candidate will be mentoring and supporting the development and imparting knowledge to junior colleagues. Critical elements of the role include day-to-day client management, strategic digital planning and advice to clients, and working with the team on campaign delivery, content development, and delivering results. Also supporting the business in brand proposition and areas for development, as well as driving new business to the firm.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and review key client deliverables (i.e. messaging, branding, executive coaching, communications/marketing plans, and digital strategy documents)
• Assume creative and strategic direction and oversight on all account assignments
• Develop strategic communication programmes
• Equipped with crisis communications and reputational communications
• Contact the client regularly to ensure the client is satisfied with account activity
• Develop client’s crisis comms guides and support company directors with crisis responses
• Media training for clients preparation for interviews and discussion of interview strategy
• Work with clients to assess issues, develop recommendations, and implement business improvement processes
• Work with clients to identify potential alliances and partnerships
• Working with blue chip leaders on digital strategies

Key requirements:

• University degree or college diploma in communications or a related field
• 8+ years of agency experience – Ideally top 20 UK corporate communications agencies
• Specialised industry knowledge or experience in consumer comms
• Solid presentation skills, including the ability to communicate and sell ideas to new prospects
• Demonstrable evidence in leadership skills and sales ability
• Possess an established network of senior industry and media contacts
• Strong project management and strategy implementation experience
• Well-versed in crisis or reputational communication
• Experience implementing digital strat and delivery
