£40K – £45K base

I am partnered with a non-for-profit organisation that sits within the housing sector. They are a small organisation with their communications department being led by an impressive expert coming from the big 4. Due to great success and growth, the Head of Communications now has a new role within their team for a highly experienced and ambitious Communications Manager to come on board.

The Communications Manager will have a breadth of Internal and External experience and will be supporting the ambitious Head of Communications as they take the company through some organisational change. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication plans to enhance our company’s reputation, foster positive relationships, and ensure consistent messaging across all channels. You will lead a small team and oversee their deliverables. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills. This role is a healthy role with lots of big projects to take the lead on, you will be able to hit the ground running, put forward some great ideas, and get stuck in!

Key Requirements

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that engages its customers and employees and promotes a cohesive company culture.
  • Create and manage content for communication channels such as company intranet, newsletters, emails, social media and events.
  • Craft clear and compelling messages that align with the company’s values, goals, and initiatives.
  • Manage crisis communication internally, providing transparent and accurate information during challenging situations.
  • Create compelling content for press releases, media pitches, articles, and other external communication materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media representatives, industry influencers, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks, and provide timely recommendations.
  • Manage the company’s social media presence, ensuring consistency and engagement across various platforms.
  • Write and edit various types of content, including speeches, presentations, blog posts, and executive communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a broad communications role, with a focus on both internal and external communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
  • Proficiency in using various communication tools, including social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience in crisis communication and issues management is a plus.
  • Previous line management is an additional benefit
