Job Title: Communications Planning Manager

Contract: 12-month contract / ASAP Start

Location: Hybrid – London

Rate: £800 per day (Inside IR35)

The Role:

We are seeking a Communications Planning Manager to join our global change team, responsible for developing and managing comprehensive communications plans for a large-scale transformation program. This role will ensure the successful delivery of targeted, timely, and creative communications that engage stakeholders, business communities, and end users during a period of significant change. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, third-party providers, and leadership to support a smooth transition to new systems, processes, and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, own, and maintain a comprehensive communications plan in collaboration with the program team, focusing on cultural, process, and functional changes.
  • Oversee and govern the communications and stakeholder engagement plan, reporting progress, identifying risks, and ensuring high-quality communication assets are delivered on time.
  • Create standardized communication assets for multi-channel, multi-audience events, simplifying messages for various impacted groups.
  • Support internal communications by developing key messages and materials for project team engagement.
  • Use data and insights to continuously measure and improve the effectiveness of communications, ensuring timely adjustments are made as needed.
  • Coordinate with global and regional teams to align communication strategies and maintain consistency across all waves of the project.
  • Collaborate with the training team to incorporate key behavioral and cultural messages into communications.

Who You Are:

  • Degree educated in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years’ experience in planning, managing, and delivering communication campaigns, ideally for complex, transformational projects such as ERP or IT-enabled initiatives.
  • Proven ability to coach and support teams, including third-party providers, to achieve communication goals.
  • Expertise in developing effective program communications and delivering stakeholder events.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate communication channels with the ability to innovate and increase engagement.
  • Native-level English proficiency, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Able to adjust to changing priorities, delivering high-quality communications in tight timelines.
  • Proficient in tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Yammer/Viva Engage, Teams, Canva, Synthesia, and more.

Barriers to Success in This Role:

  • Inability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Low adaptability to fast-paced or ambiguous environments.
  • Failure to communicate effectively or manage risks and milestones.
  • Lack of teamwork and poor alignment with third-party service providers or internal teams.
