Role Summary

As a Technical Director, you are expected to lead a range of technology projects and initiatives through their entire life-cycle, from sales to delivery to account development. In this senior role, you must be able to inspire, lead and manage teams with passion, expertise and ambition to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

You will be the primary technology representative on one or more accounts and work closely with our new business teams helping to sell in projects, and with our delivery teams ensuring technical processes and outputs meet the highest quality levels. As a technical partner to our clients, you will act as a primary technical contact and work to build strong relationships with organisation’s IT stakeholders.

Technical Directors must have in-depth technical knowledge of programming principles and web technologies, as well as being comfortable with and willing to grasp other technologies as and when required. Technical Directors should understand different development methodologies and how they can be applied to on and off-shore development projects. Ultimately, the Technical Director will be responsible for working with the Technical Management staff to set, implement and guide the development practices and to challenge and lead the technological component across a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparation of projects, including accurate scoping and estimation.
• Overseeing technical teams throughout the project life-cycle.
• Having a high level understanding of and signing off core application code to satisfy technical,
• functional and non-functional requirements of all assigned projects.
• Helping to manage and monitor resource requirements for projects.
• Giving input on and helping to promote development procedures, methodologies and standards.
• Advising on and recommending new technological approaches.
• Help to coach, mentor and give technical advice to developers.
• Engaging in new business activities such as pitching and responding to RFIs / RFPs.
• Liaising with clients to represent The Agencies from a technology perspective.
• Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
• Excellent all round technical aptitude and understanding of design patterns and programming

• Demonstrable ability to lead technical teams from discovery through to delivery.

• A willingness to co-locate off site if and when required.
