Senior SEO Manager – Retail – London – £60K

The Company and Role

My client is a retailer in the healthcare sector. They are part of a bigger group, but still run independently and consequently still have that entrepreneurial vibe. They have undergone some recent structural changes to support ambitious growth targets.

The SEO Manager will be executing and managing the search engine optimisation strategy, both on SEO and off site, across all arms of the business. The successful candidate will work closely with the marketing team as well as various in-house teams such as content, web development and social media. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the successful applicant will work to improve conversion, efficiency and profit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all the UK and international websites are optimised for search engines

• Deliver cutting-edge marketing analytics projects optimizing across different channels and analytical functions

• Engage with teams internally and externally to on day to day SEO needs

• Drive quality traffic and increase rankings through content marketing, link building, partnership management etc

• Implement integrated search marketing plans and work closely with other specialists and departments within the company to ensure best practice is being rolled out across the board. E.g. Social Media, UX, Content, PR

• Manage, maintain and increase the online presence of the websites by utilising modern organic on-page search and online marketing techniques
• Analyse and report on search visibility, keyword rankings, traffic patterns and competitor analysis
• Liaise with local Marketing teams to ensure SEO best practice is followed

Key competencies and experience:

• Search Engine analytical experience, SEO knowledge as a pre-requisite and SEM / PPC, or other digital media is advantageous
• At least 3-4 years’ work experience and a track record of successful SEO programme execution specifically in driving sales
• Experience using SEO campaign management software such as BrightEdge, SEO Monitor SEMRush or screamingfrog

• Ability to take full ownership of an SEO role

• Solid experience in web analytics and the ability to use the data to drive performance

• A strong understanding of site functionality

• Ability to work with large data sets with excellent quantitative and analytical skills

• Ability to communicate with stakeholders at a senior level

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail

• Up-to-date understanding of organic search trends, including search engine algorithm changes, the latest tools and technologies
