Value Stream Release & Implementation Manager (Contract)

💰 $818 per day + Super (PAYG) | $818 + GST (ABN)

A large, complex enterprise is seeking an experienced Value Stream Release & Implementation Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of releases across multiple squads within a scaled agile environment.

This role sits at the heart of delivery execution, owning release governance, orchestration, and readiness across value streams, platforms, and enterprise initiatives. You’ll be trusted to drive high-quality releases to production while increasing throughput and reducing post-release incidents.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and orchestrate value stream releases across multiple squads and ARTs, from planning through to production and warranty.
• Own release governance, ensuring enterprise release criteria, controls, and standards are consistently met.
• Create and manage a value stream release calendar, aligned to enterprise release cycles and program increments.
• Drive release readiness activities including runsheets, change records, implementation plans, risk assessments, and operational handovers.
• Identify and resolve code contention, environment dependencies, and cross-stream impacts ahead of release milestones.
• Partner closely with Scrum Masters, Tech Leads, Test Managers, Platform teams, and Run teams to ensure smooth progression through environments.
• Provide clear release reporting, metrics, and readiness updates to senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate release reviews, retrospectives, and post-implementation reviews, ensuring actions are closed and improvements embedded.
• Strengthen release autonomy at value stream level while maintaining alignment with enterprise frameworks.
• Maintain implementation risk and issue registers with clear mitigation strategies.
• Support continuous improvement across DevOps, CI/CD, and agile delivery practices.

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years’ experience in Release Management, Implementation Management, or Delivery Governance in large enterprise environments.
• Strong background working in Agile / SAFe delivery models.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD-driven release environments.
• Deep knowledge of release and change tooling such as Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, Plutora (or similar).
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior technology and business leaders.
• Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and governance discipline.
• Comfortable operating in complex, fast-moving, multi-stream delivery landscapes.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering large-scale digital or enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to regulated environments with strong release controls.
• SAFe, ITIL v4, PMP or similar certifications.
