Senior Data Scientist – Fintech + AI Innovation | Cape Town (Hybrid)

We’re supporting a fast-growing South African fintech in their search for a Senior Data Scientist who thrives on turning complex data into actionable insights and scalable models.

In this role, you’ll:

• Design, build, and deploy models that power loyalty optimisation, transaction prediction, and fraud detection.
• Dig deep into data to uncover insights that drive real business moves, from product decisions to customer engagement.
• Experiment with Generative AI tools (e.g., AWS Bedrock and SageMaker) to test new ways of driving value.
• Partner with product, marketing, and engineering teams to put data at the centre of everything.
• Help shape the company’s long-term data strategy, including data quality and AI ethics.

What we’re looking for:

• Around 5+ years in data science, analytics, or a similar field.
• Strong Python and SQL skills (comfortable with pandas, scikit-learn, etc.).
• Experience with dashboard tools like AWS QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Exposure to cloud data tools (AWS Glue, Athena, SageMaker, possibly Bedrock).
• Curiosity, clear communication, and a knack for explaining the “why” behind the data.
