Senior Java Trading Systems Engineer

The Company:

You will be working for a world leading Global Investment Bank located in either Sydney or Melbourne’s CBD, within the global Markets space working alongside the business, Risk and Data Technology Teams

The role:

• Working as an end to end, server-side Java Software Engineer
• Responsible for successful delivery of solutions which meet the needs of the internal and external customers
• Be actively involved in continuous improvement, BAU and delivery.
• Be an advocate for the adoption of Agile/Scrum practice, methodologies and attitudes.
• Role model Agile leadership behaviours

What makes you a good fit:

• In excess of 7 years’ experience as a back-end Java developer working on large/ mission critical banking applications – Java 8, Java EE
• Object-Oriented software analysis and design
• strong knowledge of SQL
• Frameworks including Multithreading, Spring and Hibernate
• Scripting – Unix, Python
• Micro-services / RESTful service design
• Experience with AWS is desirable but not essential
• Worked in CI/CD environments

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in engineering, computer science or equivalent
