Project Manager – Cloud

We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Manager to support the delivery of cloud and application modernisation initiatives within a leading higher education organisation. This role is well suited to someone who has hands-on exposure to transitioning legacy applications and supporting their operation on AWS and/or Azure, and who brings a positive, adaptable mindset to complex environments.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

• $140,000 base + super
• 2-year Fixed Term Contract, with possibility of extension
• Melbourne CBD.
• Hybrid working model, 2 days in office.

THE ROLE:

• Support and manage end-to-end delivery of cloud and application modernisation projects
• Assist with transitioning legacy applications to run effectively on AWS and/or Azure
• Coordinate project planning, scheduling, dependencies, risks, and issues using PPM tools
• Use Jira to track delivery progress, actions, and milestones
• Work closely with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
• Support governance, reporting, and compliance with organisational standards
• Contribute to business readiness, change, and adoption activities
• Maintain clear communication across IT, security, and business teams

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience supporting or delivering IT, cloud, or application-related projects
• Exposure to legacy systems and an understanding of modernisation or cloud transition concepts
• Practical experience working with AWS and/or Azure environments
• Experience using PPM tools and Jira
• A positive attitude, strong learning mindset, and adaptability in changing environments
• Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches
• Experience in higher education or other large, complex organisations will be highly regarded but is not essential.
