Senior Project Manager – SASE / Cybersecurity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Cybersecurity / SASE) to lead the end-to-end delivery of a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) initiative within a leading education organisation. This role will be responsible for delivering a major cybersecurity uplift program, ensuring project outcomes reduce cyber risk and improve organisational security maturity aligned to NIST frameworks.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

• $950.00 a Day Inclusive of super.
• Initial 6-Month engagement, with possibility of extension.
• Melbourne CBD.
• Hybrid working model, 2 days in office.
• Exposure to working alongside a well-established Australian Uni.

THE ROLE:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of the SASE cybersecurity program.
  * Develop and manage detailed project plans including scope, timelines, resources, risks, and budget.
  * Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, security, business units, and vendors.
  * Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies with clear escalation pathways.
  * Provide regular stakeholder updates via PPM reporting, dashboards, and executive presentations.
  * Ensure delivery aligns to cybersecurity risk reduction objectives and uplifts NIST maturity.
  * Support procurement, vendor evaluation, and contract management activities.
  * Champion strong project governance, documentation, and quality assurance.
  * Drive change management and user adoption to support successful implementation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience delivering cybersecurity and SASE (Secure Access Service Edge related programs
  * Demonstrated ability to lead complex, enterprise-scale security initiatives
  * Experience working within Australian tertiary education or similarly regulated environments
  * Strong change management and user adoption experience
  * Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  * Strong commercial acumen with experience managing vendors and negotiations
  * Ability to work independently and navigate complex organisational structures
  * Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, or Prosci highly regarded
