Software Engineer

Salt is currently hiring a skilled Fullstack Engineer for a client of ours in Amsterdam.

The role is a 6 month contract paying 100 euros an hour for a freelancer with KVK/ZZP.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies.
• Build responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible user interfaces using React, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate business requirements, wireframes, and UX designs into functional, reusable, and maintainable components and applications.
• Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, UX/UI designers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality product features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, ensuring high standards for code quality through unit testing and peer reviews.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and production support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while optimizing application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, technical improvements, and engineering best practices.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support containerized applications in production environments.
• Utilize data-driven development practices, including analytics and A/B testing, to improve product performance and user experience.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Full Stack or Frontend development.
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and SQL, using modern development frameworks, tools, and best practices.
• Strong experience building responsive, cross-browser, and cross-platform web applications.
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, and performance optimization.
• Experience gathering, validating, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Proven experience writing unit tests and maintaining high code quality.
• Strong knowledge of software delivery practices, including deployments, monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, orchestration, scaling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Javascript and GraphQL.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Experience with performance monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience with data analytics, experimentation, and A/B testing.
• Experience working on products serving large-scale customer bases.
