Dev Ops Engineer

The Managed Services team provides customer experience platform management and cloud environment support olutions, DevOps engineering, and consulting services that support our clients’ ecommerce platforms and associated business operations. There is now an exciting opportunity to join the Managed Services team and be an integral part in continuing to expand their core services and solutions.

The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for implementing, troubleshooting and maintaining DevOps pipelines for development, test and production environments for client cloud environments in Azure. You will contribute to a wider team responsible for the engineering, automation, release coordination and testing automation of scalable, cloud based digital experiences

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Investigation, remediation, and root cause analysis of production incidents and problems.
• Provide support to engineers for infrastructure, pipeline, and environment issues.
• Administration and maintenance of CI/CD tooling including access management, configuration, patches and upgrades.
• Analysing and decommissioning obsolete infrastructure, pipelines, and configuration.
• Reviewing and mitigating findings from security vulnerability scanning tools.
• Applying patches and upgrades to operating systems, cloud services (e.g. Azure Kubernetes), runtimes (e.g., Node.js, DotNet), containers, etc.
• Periodic rotation of certificates and credentials.
• Coordinating operating activities with third party software vendors.
• Scaling in/out and up/down infrastructure and establishing/tuning automation for scaling.
• Coordination and execution of deployments to UAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments
• Documentation of systems, processes, and practices
• Support and execute change management processes.
• Optimise dashboards and reporting for system health, performance, cost, security, and compliance.
• Configuring monitoring, log aggregation, and alerting tools.

Essential Experience

• Excellent written, verbal and technical communication.
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and modern communications tools such as Teams and Slack.
• Strong experience and knowledge of cloud environments (Azure)
• A working knowledge of Managed Services, DevSecOps principles and site reliability practices for Web Apps and Content Management Systems hosted on public cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deep understanding of internet technologies.
• Experience in helping others to understand strategy for identifying new business opportunities.
• Demonstrable experience with business analysis, process engineering as well as systems and infrastructure architecture.
• Sound knowledge of modern software engineering principles and practices in the cloud.
• Sound knowledge of the web: protocols, web architectures, infrastructure, web servers, proxies, load balancing, content delivery networks, high availability, zero-downtime environments, automation, Infrastructure as Code scripting etc.
• Experience inspiring and driving a highly skilled team towards success.
