DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer for a very challenging and exciting mission. Our client is looking for someone to Build, Deploy, operate, maintain and develop further to the CI/CD infrastructure for core services behind their product solutions.

A Capable Engineer should have one main high level objective; Identify and solve complex problems through software. This is not your traditional Sysadmin/operations role (e.g deployments, permissions, ticket work, dash-boarding, monitoring, incident response. A significant portion of the time (50%) will be some form of programming/development work, to sustainable solve problems identified in the CICD team, and/or for implementing new technology.

Areas of responsibility:

· Modernize and migrate to new CICD technology without disruption to service development.

· Support developers in troubleshooting CICD related problems

· Automate common, repeatable tasks to streamline operational procedures

· Design and maintain monitoring systems for CICD infrastructure

· Troubleshoot performance and stability issues using a wide variety of tools

· Implement infrastructure security improvements, up to architectural refactorings

· Follow change management processes during implementations

· Use and maintain version control for application infrastructure

· Work in a diverse and global team environment

· Apply and promote a DevOps/SRE mindset

Skills:

· CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins (pipeline, jcasc, job-dsl, plugins) and github automation (Pull request builder, webhooks)

· One or more of the following programming languages: Python, Groovy, Ruby, bash, Java

· Infrastructure as code technologies (terraform, chef)

· CNCF technologies (docker, kubernetes, helm, argo)

· Observability tools (Cortex, NewRelic, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)

· Modern, continuous development techniques (Agile, Scrum, Jira, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Artifactory)

· Working within software development or Internet-related industries, particularly in the context of a SaaS offering.

· Working on distributed applications at scale in public cloud (AWS and/or Azure)
