They are a leading energy and environmental solutions provider for large and complex energy users.

The firm provides net zero offsetting and advisory services, making principal investments, commodity trading and risk management, and physical power & gas supply.

The firm was established over 15 years ago and rapidly expanded with over 4,000 large clients across the globe.

Job Overview:

As the Head of DevOps, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology operations and software development processes. You will lead a talented team of DevOps engineers and professionals to enhance our infrastructure, streamline our development pipeline, and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our software applications. Responsibilities:

* Leadership: Provide strong and strategic leadership to the DevOps team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

* Secure Software Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy, including best practices for secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and compliance.

* Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, provisioning, and management of scalable and reliable infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud (Azure)

* DevOps Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive DevOps strategy, including best practices for continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), automation, and infrastructure as code.

* Toolchain Management: Evaluate, implement, and maintain DevOps tools, including but not limited to Azure, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and various monitoring solutions.

* Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of our systems and data by implementing best-in-class security practices, audits, and compliance measures.

* Performance Optimisation: Monitor and enhance the performance of our applications, infrastructure, and services to meet or exceed service-level agreements (SLAs).

* Collaboration: Facilitate strong collaboration between development, operations, and security teams, ensuring secure and efficient workflows.

* Incident Response: Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution efforts to minimise service disruptions.

* Mentorship and Training: Coach and mentor team members, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing. Requirements:

* Minimum of 8 year or more experience in a similar role.

* Proven experience as a DevOps leader or in a similar managerial role.

* Strong technical background in Automation, infrastructure, and software development.

* Deep knowledge of DevOps practices and methodologies.

* Proficiency in secure coding principles and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

* Outstanding leadership and communication abilities.

* Excellent people and project management skills

* Strong communication and presentation skills

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Confident in presenting to different types of stakeholders.

* Energy sector experience highly advantageous Certifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar

* Relevant IaaS certifications within Azure, or similar (e.g., Microsoft certified DevOps Engineer Expert,

* Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

* Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

* Certified HashiCorp Vault and Terraform highly advantageous
