I am currently working on an exclusive opportunity with a company which without telling you too much has been voted the best retailer of its kind, in the world for the fourth year running now. One of the UK’s most unique prestigious landmarks and an organisation that operates in over 130 countries around the world.

You will be supporting the senior board on how and where to spend £500 million through digital transformation across the next 5 years.

The Role:

You will be part of the Strategic Programme team who leads the business processes to define and oversee the execution of our strategic road maps that deliver new capabilities to their customers and colleagues.

The Head of PMO will lead a central team that collaborate across the business to initiate, design and oversee strategic change for our client in a holistic manner.

In this role, you will ensure that projects are being managed in such a way that ensures cost, quality, schedule, and benefits realisation are controlled and achieved. This will be achieved by ensuring that all projects adhere to the best practices & standard approaches for project management. You will develop and implement best practices to enable the successful delivery of a broad range of projects to stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and maintain a suite of PMO services to support the successful execution of programmes across the enterprise;
  • Maintain effective relationships across all teams supporting delivery of key initiatives;
  • Line management and development of PMO teams;
  • Maintain a project support framework which provides clear and consistent services and deliverables to all programmes;
  • Develop a reporting framework which ensures timely reporting of key performance indicators across all programmes.
  • Execute effective governance oversight over staff ensuring standards of support are being maintained.
  • Undertake effective assurance across all programme deliverables, including planning, risk and issue management and dependency management.
  • Support Director of Strategic Programmes in the creation and management of appropriate enterprise wide value-based prioritisation of projects linking through to the company strategy.

You will have:

  • Experience of managing large scale programmes/projects
  • Experience of Change Management methodologies and techniques (Key is examples across AGILE and PRINCE2)
  • Experience of leading a PMO team of 5+ PMO resources
  • Experience of workload prioritisation and working within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of monitoring and reporting in a Programme environment
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations
