Platform Engineer (DV Cleared GCPD,GCHQ,GCB)

PAY: £800P/D

CONTRACT: 12 months Extensions available

Onsite (Cheltenham)

The role:

1. Hands on experienced in Large Scale Data Analytics Platforms, conversant in ability to leverage Hybrid Cloud to Edge. Hands on in native technologies. A thorough understanding of cloud architecture and able to design and develop secure, scalable, and resilient solutions following DevOps way of working.

2. Cloud Engineering capability to leverage Public Cloud platform using automated build processes deployed using Infrastructure as Code.

3. Provide technical challenge and assurance throughout development and delivery of work.

4. Develop re-useable common solutions and patterns to reduce development lead times, improve commonality and lowering Total Cost of Ownership

6. Work independently or within a team using a DevOps way of working.

7. Support the design and development of new capabilities, preparing solution options, investigating technology, designing and running proof of concepts, providing assessments, advice and solution options, providing high level and low level design documentation.

SKILLS:

1. Experienced in Big Data Analytic platforms e.g. Hadoop,

2. Experienced in being able to acts as bridge from the infrastructure through to user facing systems.

3. Experienced in Cloud native technologies in AWS.

4. Experienced in Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering building and testing new capabilities, and supporting the development of new solutions and common templates.

5. Experienced in the use of Automation tools e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Foreman, Puppet, and Python.

6. Experienced in Kubernetes Containers

7. Experienced in deploying IaaS/PaaS in Multi Cloud Environments

8. Experienced in different flavours of Linux platform and services.
