Senior Technical Business Analyst – Media – London/Hybrid (2 – 3 days in office)

Day rate: £300 – £500 (outside IR35)

We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to own the analysis and technical specification of Content Solutions for our global business. You will have extensive Business Analysis experience with proven ability to specify and prioritise end-to-end requirements and work with relevant stakeholders (Product, Architecture, Technical Leads, Design). In this role you will own the definition and implementation of transformative content workflow solutions for our global business. You will have deep expertise in content technologies including Digital & Media Asset Management, Content Planning, Content Enrichment & Tagging, Content sharing and collaboration, and rights clearance and rights management. You will be able to work independently to own the definition and delivery of user requirements end-to-end. You will need a deep understanding of media domain applications, data models and services, specifically in the Content and Rights domains.

Main responsibilities

• Work with business and SME experts to elicit and validate technical and non-technical requirements for end to end Content and Rights solutions.
• Have strategic mindset that allows us to recommend and deliver technical solutions that align to the overall strategy and best in class Content & Rights operations with enabling technology
• Support definition of the systems design, including wireframes, business rules, data migration rules and other detailed deliverables
• Perform system analysis of current and future state software applications and services and create associated technical system documentation, including but not limited to Use Case, Sequence, Dataflow, Class and State Diagrams using standard notification – BPMN, UML, OMG standards.
• Document solution scope and business requirements using industry best practice protocols not limited to:
• Solution scope: context diagram, use case diagrams and business process models.
• Data scope: conceptual data model, data dictionary, logical data model
• User scope: user profiles/personas
• Business requirements: user stories/use case description, functional and non-functional requirements at an epic and story/task level (including user acceptance criteria)
• Business process transformation: and end to end workflow model, sequence & component diagrams, business rules & reporting, high-level wireframes/story boards to demonstrate the business & technology transformation
• System integration scope and approach
• Migration scope and approach

• Assist with production of business case and work with the business and technology leadership to define, articulate and identify how to measure benefits.
• Communicate and playback complex business needs and technology solutions to business stakeholders
• Support engineering and design delivery teams throughout build and implement phase to understand, test and validate business requirements.
• Create acceptance criteria and UAT scenarios and oversee the UAT process
• Work with business stakeholders, Solution/Enterprise Architects and Technology teams to assess technical selection of, feasibility of, implementation of and training for target state solutions including functionality, effectiveness, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability and cost of ownership.
• Identification and gap analysis of existing systems and map and document proposed migration plan to target Platforms

Requirements

• Professional Qualifications / Certified Business Analyst or equivalent experience
• At least 10 years of proven experience in a Technical or Systems Business Analyst role
• Experience with Content, Rights, Video Production and Media companies as a must
• Understanding of gathering business requirements for reporting and data needs, and translating them into MoSoW technical functional and non-functional specifications
• Educated to degree level or has relevant experience
• Extensive experience working in Agile environments
• Experienced using standard notification protocols – BPMN, OMG, UML
• Experience in Jira/Confluence
• Knowledge of APIs, JSON, React/Node, HTML, SQL and XML desirable
• Proactive in seeking information, challenging norms and driving efficiency
• You are self-driven, motivated, and ability to drive objectives forward and see projects and initiatives through to completion
• You have excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• You are able to effectively communicate technical concepts to different audiences
