Lead Java Developer (Freelance) – Digital Transport Business – TDD, Agile, Java8, Scrum, Jenkins

Duration: 6 – 12 months contract

Languages: French or Dutch (English is MUST)

Rate: 600 – 700 per day

Objectives of the mission

As part of the “New Traffic Management” program, our customer modernizes and optimizes its software tools for the control and follow-up of real-time train traffic.

A major upgrade of the TMS (Traffic Management System) applications is planned for this end of 2020.

My client is looking for a Lead JAVA developers (expert level) to strengthen and support the JAVA agile development teams

Scope

• In collaboration with clients and ICT, the tasks to be delivered are as follows:
• provide technical expertise to the 3 JAVA agile development teams
• domain analysis and solution design
• software and system architecture design
• act as a problem solver in the field of Java software
• guarantee clean code
• implement and monitor pair programming
• coaching junior JAVA developers
• giving technical training
• implement and support Test Driven Development and Domain Driven Design
• support and encourage devops initiatives

The required Expertise is:

• Higher computer science or equivalent
• 10 years of relevant experience as a JAVA developer and system architect in a software development environment
• Absolute focus on quality and readable code
• 5 years of practical experience with test driven development, DDD, design patterns and system architecture design
• technologies for “high available” and “high throughput” systems such as messaging, cluster techniques and memory grids
• at least 7 years of practical experience with SCRUM and agile software development
• at least 10 years of experience with the following frameworks and technologies:
• Java 8, JUnit, JPA, OSGI
• JMS
• Oracle DB
• Oracle Coherence, Hazelcast
• Eclipse RCP
• Jenkins, Liquibase, Github, SonarQube, Ansible, Maven

DevOps principles

Domain expertise:

• last 5 years at least 3 years experience with software development projects in the public transport sector
• functional knowledge of traffic management applications
