Employers’ requirements
Most employers will require candidates to have previous studio or project management experience, and knowledge of different process and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall. Intermediate to advanced design knowledge and capability is also a must-have, in order to make sure you understand the team you are managing.
CV requirements
Aside from experience in a similar role, your CV should display a track record of leading a studio on successful projects. You’ll also need to have a proven ability to meet strict deadlines, clear communication skills, and proficiency in all Office software.
Interview preparation
Before a Studio Management interview, you may be asked to prepare a portfolio showing examples of some design projects you have delivered. Make sure you find out as much about the company you’re interviewing with as possible, in order to bring your perspective to the way they work.
