Content Strategist

Our client is seeking an experienced Content Strategist to define and guide the content vision for a corporate website redesign. This role will focus on building the strategic foundation for content, ensuring it aligns with business goals, user needs, brand voice, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards. The Content Strategist will collaborate with internal stakeholders and design teams to establish frameworks that guide content development and ensure the website delivers clear, engaging, and effective user experiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onboarding and information gathering, including review of brand voice and content guidelines
  • Analyze and benchmark competitor websites and content approaches
  • Validate the agency’s content direction against brand voice, legal constraints, and clarity standards
  • Review existing information architecture (IA), navigation models, and taxonomy
  • Align stakeholders around the content vision, objectives, and success metrics
  • Develop content mapping aligned with the website structure
  • Ensure content supports priority business outcomes and user journeys
  • Ensure alignment between content strategy and IA/navigation decisions
  • Approve page templates from a content-first perspective
  • Define SEO intent mapping and on-page SEO requirements
  • Ensure accessibility and clarity standards are reflected in the content framework
  • Establish governance guidelines to support consistent content development and future scalability

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in content strategy, digital content planning, or related roles
  • Proven experience developing content strategies for large websites or digital platforms, ideally including corporate website redesigns
  • Strong understanding of information architecture (IA), navigation systems, and content taxonomy
  • Experience conducting content inventories, audits, and content mapping
  • Ability to define messaging hierarchies, audience frameworks, and tone of voice guidelines
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, including intent mapping and on-page optimization requirements
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and how they apply to digital content
  • Experience aligning content strategies with business goals, user journeys, and customer needs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with design, UX, marketing, and development teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present and justify strategic recommendations
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple inputs, stakeholders, and deliverables in complex projects
  • Experience working within agency or consulting environments is an asset
