CONTRACT – OUTDOOR APPAREL DESIGNER (SKIING) – 4 MONTHS + extension

The client is a global giant in the Sporting Retail Industry

Day Rate: around 650EUR/day (depending on experience)

Mostly remote role, but once a month required in office based in Bavaria (Germany)

The position is for the outdoor Apparel Innovation team. Subcategory is the ski touring concept. The ski touring project’s aim is to create precisely thermoregulated, durable & lightweight layering systems that prevent a drop in muscle output

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

The client will provide all necessary products, information, contact details, documents, access to relevant systems and all other requirements in advance.

ROLE:

• Ski Touring apparel: ideate and design a layering concept optimised for perfect thermoregulation.
• The contractor will base the design on by provided scientific research and insights.
• The designing will be done based on contractors own expertise.
• At the end of the designing process, the contractor will hand the digital designs (in .ai and .pdf) over and they will be approved by the client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conceptual design of a complete outfit based on the scientific research and insights provided by the client.
• The contractor will utilise all the provided information and translate it into a workable design sketch for a complete outfit (jacket, pant and mid layer). This includes 2-3 design iterations.
• The client provides all necessary products, information, contact details, documents, access to relevant systems and all other requirements in advance
• Research Outdoor trends and stay up to date on contemporary styles & trends. Target consumer, wearing occasions & market opportunities.
• Design and develop new concepts including trims and construction techniques
