Data Quality Engineer

We’re partnering with a global marketing technology and data solutions company that helps the world’s biggest brands make smarter decisions through connected data, cloud, and AI-powered platforms. Their QA and Data Engineering teams operate globally and they’re expanding their Quality Engineering (QE) team in Malaysia to support large-scale data transformation projects for international clients.

If you’re strong in SQL, Python, and ETL testing, and enjoy ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data pipelines, this could be the role for you!

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Engineer (Data Testing & Automation), you’ll play a key role in validating complex data workflows that power global analytics platforms. You’ll work on data-centric projects and ensuring that data is reliable, consistent, and accurately transformed across multiple systems.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Validating data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data transformations
• Writing and debugging SQL scripts to perform data quality checks
• Building lightweight automation using Python
• Collaborating with Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and QA peers across global teams
• Participating in CI/CD integration and cross-team QA collaboration
• Working closely with US-based client teams in an agile/scrum setup

You’ll be part of a specialized Cloud & Data QA team led by global QA leaders, with strong career growth and international exposure.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong proficiency in SQL (advanced joins, grouping, data validation logic)
• Working knowledge of Python (data checks, functions, automation scripts)
• Experience in ETL/ELT testing or data validation across multiple sources (flat files, databases, big data)
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or any major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Understanding of CI/CD and test automation principles
• Comfortable working across global time zones (US/EMEA hours with flexibility)
• Great communication and collaboration skills with a problem-solving mindset
