Designer & Web Strategist

Salt is seeking a dynamic and experienced ‘Designer & Web Strategist’ who excels at the intersection of creative design and front-end web development. In this hybrid role, you will support Business website and social media channels in China, driving the creation of high-impact digital assets and seamless user experiences. You will be responsible for designing engaging creatives, conducting UX research, managing CMS content, and delivering production-ready landing pages that minimize developer rework and maximize user engagement.

This is 12-month contract role based in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Optimization

* Social Media Channels: Design and develop visually compelling WeChat creatives (e.g. WeChat Account posts) that align brand guidelines and resonate with Chinese audiences.

* Landing Pages: Create and optimize campaign landing pages, ensuring they are production-ready with design specifications and best-practice layouts.

* UX Research: Conduct rapid UX research (user interviews, usability testing, behavioral analysis) to inform UX decisions. Leverage analytics to optimize user journeys and improve conversion rates.

Technical Implementation

* CMS Management: Implement responsive designs and manage content updates within CMS platforms, streamlining workflows and reducing developer rework.

* Quality Assurance: Test and debug digital assets across browsers, devices, and platforms to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.

* A/B Testing: Design and execute A/B tests for landing pages, WeChat marketing materials, and other digital assets to drive conversion optimization and user engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

* Marketing Partnership: Collaborate with marketing teams to translate business requirements into effective digital solutions.

* Liaise with engineers and developers: Collaborate with engineering teams and CMS developers to identify and report bugs, propose improvements, and maintain the technical quality of digital channels.

Minimum Qualifications

* Fluent in English and Mandarin; Cantonese proficiency is a plus.

* Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field.

* 5+ years of experience in web design and front-end development, with a portfolio showcasing both.

* Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive frameworks).

* Hands-on experience with CMS platforms.

* Familiarity with UX research methodologies and analytics tools.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
