An exciting opportunity exists for a Distribution Ops Manager in Blacktown to join a leading FMCG organisation and play a critical role in driving warehousing, distribution, safety, and service excellence across a high-volume highly automated modern distribution centre.
This is a people focused & commercial leadership position where you will be responsible for leading operational teams, optimising warehouse performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring exceptional customer service outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and cost management.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and develop warehouse operations teams within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Drive operational performance across warehousing, dispatch, transport coordination
- Deliver warehousing services at optimal cost while maintaining high customer service levels.
- Analyse operational data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and drive performance outcomes.
- Lead workforce planning, and performance coaching within a unionised workforce environment.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational procedures, processes, and work instructions.
- Partner with transport providers, planning teams, customer service, and internal stakeholders
- Drive Lean, Continuous Improvement, and problem-solving initiatives across the site.
- Manage operational budgets, cost controls, and productivity targets.
Experience required:
- A proven history & experience with a distribution centre (at least 5 years management experience)
- A leadership style that balances strategy & operations.
- The ability to see the big picture while managing the details that keep operations running smoothly
- Worked in unionised workforce environment.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships across teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Tech-savviness with warehouse systems and data tools to drive informed decisions
- An initiative-taking, adaptable mindset that thrives in dynamic, deadline-driven environments
- A commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
