About the Company:

Salt have partnered with a major infrastructure organisation responsible for delivering essential services to hundreds of thousands of Aucklanders. They manage critical networks, support community resilience, and play a key role in keeping the region connected and running smoothly

About the Role:

  • Based in Newmarket
  • Starting on February 2nd 2026
  • 3‑month temporary assignment with potential to extend long‑term
  • $40-$50+ per hour + 8% holiday pay (depending on experience)

This is a dual‑function role supporting the GM of Risk and Resilience to ensure key targets are met across emergency management and risk. It is a vital position that strengthens the systems and processes driving organisation‑wide emergency preparedness.

You will manage processes following emergency events, follow up with teams to gather information, and help shape improved procedures for future responses. You’ll coordinate across all functional areas to ensure end‑to‑end readiness for major events, monitor readiness indicators, and enable stakeholders to deliver on agreed actions.

The second part of the role involves attending meetings with the GM, contributing ideas on how to progress action items, and coordinating with other departments to ensure targets are met. This may include providing additional support to teams where needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has excelled in workflow coordination and is looking for greater exposure to senior leaders, with the chance to influence and shape future processes.

Day to Day:

  • Coordinate workflows with a range of stakeholders
  • Navigate complex, cross‑business response processes with many moving parts
  • Ensure post‑emergency learnings are captured and acted on
  • Act as key support for the GM, anticipating needs and enabling success across board meetings and wider priorities
  • Attend meetings with the GM and team members to take notes, align deliverables, understand context, record actions, and ensure outcomes are coordinated

About You:

You are a self‑starter who thrives under pressure and builds strong relationships across the business. You’re comfortable immersing yourself in the challenges of each team, understanding their priorities, and working alongside them to help drive actions forward. You might have experience as an EA who has also worked on projects managing workflow.

You will bring:

  • Expertise in coordinating workflows and driving improvement programmes across multiple teams
  • Experience in a large organisation or a highly regulated environment working with governing bodies
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to promote action while remaining respectful
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to see the big picture and anticipate next steps
  • Extremely organised, Tech Saavy and able to problem solve quickly
  • Exposure to risk management, emergency management, or resilience practices (beneficial but not essential)

Benefits:

  • Excellent exposure to a large organisation making a real difference in the lives of Kiwis
  • Hybrid working model (3 days in office, 2 from home)
  • 3‑month contract with potential to extend long‑term or become permanent
  • Based in Newmarket, close to cafés, shopping, and nightlife

Please note we can only process applications for candidates based in Auckland that hold valid working rights.
