Engineering Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of large-scale cloud-native products. You’ll manage high-performing Agile engineering teams while remaining hands-on with architecture and technical leadership. This role requires someone who can balance engineering excellence, people leadership, and successful project delivery across web and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple Agile Scrum engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale products.
• Own the architecture, design, and delivery of cloud-native microservices.
• Drive end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and budget expectations are met.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, QA, and Release teams.
• Define technical roadmaps and make key architectural decisions.
• Promote engineering best practices, clean code, testing, CI/CD, and automation.
• Mentor and grow engineering talent through coaching and technical leadership.
• Drive performance, scalability, and reliability across platforms.
• Ensure successful delivery of web and mobile applications.
• Manage stakeholder communication and proactively resolve delivery risks.
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture focused on customer outcomes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 12-15 years of software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 4+ years leading engineering teams in an Engineering Manager or similar role.
• Strong experience building cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Deep expertise in Java/J2EE, with experience in Node.js or Go being advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Domain-Driven Design, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Experience developing Java-based web applications using MVC frameworks.
• Experience delivering React Native, Android, and iOS applications.
• Proven experience building high-scale, high-performance systems.
• Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• eCommerce experience is desirable.
