About the Role
My client is looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead their technology organization in Bangalore. This role is ideal for a dynamic and strategic engineering leader who has successfully managed a high-performing teams in fast-moving B2C and e-commerce environments.
You will drive the technology vision, ensure engineering excellence, and partner closely with product, design, and business teams to deliver seamless, reliable, and innovative customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 150+ engineers, developers, and managers across multiple domains and functions.
- Define and execute the company’s technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, innovation, performance, and collaboration.
- Oversee architecture design, technical strategy, and platform scalability across products and infrastructure.
- Drive disciplined execution with robust delivery frameworks, ensuring high availability and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Product and Data teams to improve customer engagement, conversion, and retention.
- Manage budgets, headcount planning, and vendor relationships effectively.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies, evaluating their potential to accelerate growth and efficiency.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of overall engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling large engineering organizations (150+ people).
- Experience in B2C/e-commerce, marketplace, or consumer internet companies.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and scalable architecture.
- Deep understanding of agile development, modern DevOps practices, and product engineering lifecycles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
