Head of Practice Finance

We are working with a leading global PR agency that is looking for a Head of Practice to lead and grow its Finance & Financial Services communications offering. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping the practice, driving commercial growth, and positioning the agency as a go-to advisor for financial services clients across the region and globally.

Role overview

The Head of Finance Practice will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team focused on financial services clients including banking, investment, fintech, insurance, asset management, and wider financial institutions. You will act as the senior counsel to key clients, drive new business within the sector, and elevate the agency’s reputation in finance communications.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the overall strategy, growth, and positioning of the Finance Practice across regional and global markets
• Build and manage a specialist team delivering high-quality PR and communications work for financial services clients
• Act as senior advisor to C-suite clients across banking, fintech, investment, and financial institutions
• Drive new business development, including pitches, proposals, and conversion of finance-sector opportunities
• Strengthen existing client relationships and identify opportunities for organic growth and cross-selling across the agency
• Develop thought leadership positioning for the agency within financial communications and capital markets storytelling
• Oversee delivery of integrated PR strategies including corporate reputation, financial communications, ESG narratives, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborate closely with other practice leads to deliver integrated, cross-sector campaigns
• Ensure strong commercial performance of the practice including revenue growth, profitability, and forecasting
• Act as a visible external face of the agency within the finance and business community in the region

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in financial services communications, ideally within a PR agency or consultancy environment
• Proven track record of leading teams and building client portfolios within the finance sector
• Strong understanding of banking, fintech, capital markets, investment and regulatory environments
• Experience advising senior stakeholders and C-suite level clients
• Demonstrated success in new business development and revenue generation
• Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring and growing teams
• Excellent strategic thinking combined with hands-on client delivery when required
• Strong regional experience (Middle East preferred but not essential) with global exposure highly valued
• Established network within financial services or corporate communications strongly preferred
