Java/Kotlin Backend Developer

My client are looking for a Senior Kotlin / Java Developer to join their backend engineering team and help design and build highly scalable, high-throughput services in a modern microservice environment. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about clean code, modern architectures, and building resilient systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, service-oriented solutions using Kotlin (2+) and Java (21), meeting performance and availability requirements.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code following modern engineering standards.
• Work with Spring, Micronaut, and other JVM-based frameworks to deliver robust backend functionalities.
• Collaborate across teams to modernize architecture and build resilient, observable, horizontally scalable features.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical discussions within the team.
• Integrate with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to ensure safe and repeatable deployments.
• Work with modern developer tools: JetBrains IntelliJ + AI, Datagrip, Lens, Rancher, Postman.
• Influence key technology decisions while contributing to global platform scaling.

Technical Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Kotlin and Java development.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring, or Micronaut frameworks.
• Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch).
• Familiarity with Kafka, Camel, Artemis JMS, Kubernetes, Helm, REST, SOAP.
• Experience with modern development tools and CI/CD pipelines.
