Performance Marketing Manager

Overview:

Our client, a recognized leader in the South African digital landscape , is seeking a strategic and results-driven Performance Marketing Manager to lead their customer acquisition efforts. This isn’t a traditional media buying role; they are looking for a growth architect who can bridge the gap between deep data analytics and high-impact consumer solutions.

Operating in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment , you will own the “Data → Strategy → Implementation” loop, managing substantial media budgets to drive measurable ROI and long-term user value. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive performance marketing strategy focused on high-quality customer acquisition, ROI, and Lifetime Value (LTV)
  • Budget Management: Own and manage a substantial paid media budget, strategically allocating spend across channels to maximize growth.
  • Channel Execution: Provide hands-on management of all paid media campaigns, including SEM (Google Ads), Paid Social (Meta, X, TikTok), and Programmatic/Display.
  • App Marketing: Drive user growth through expert App Store Optimization (ASO) and app install campaigns across iOS and Android.
  • Campaign Optimization: Manage the full campaign lifecycle, including audience targeting, creative testing, bidding strategies, and landing page optimization.
  • Creative Collaboration: Partner with the creative team to ensure a continuous pipeline of high-performing, compliant ad creative.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Rigorously monitor and analyze key metrics such as CPA, CPC, CTR, and ROAS to inform optimization decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Present detailed performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Technology Implementation: Identify and implement new tools, attribution platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adjust, AppsFlyer), and innovative ad formats.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in a performance marketing or paid media role, specifically within e-commerce or high-volume transaction businesses.
  • Budget Expertise: Proven track record of managing media budgets in excess of R500k per month.
  • Analytical Mindset: Highly data-driven and proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, with a strong understanding of marketing measurement and attribution models.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in A/B testing methodologies for both ad creative and landing pages.
  • Communication: Excellent skills with the ability to articulate complex performance data into clear, actionable insights.
