Performance Tester

🚀 Performance Engineer | AWS + Gatling | Melbourne

I’m currently recruiting for an exciting Performance Engineer opportunity with a high-volume digital organisation in Melbourne.

This is a great opportunity for a performance engineer who enjoys going beyond simply running tests – getting into how systems behave under load, identifying bottlenecks, improving scalability and helping engineering teams build highly resilient platforms.

🔧 What you’ll be doing

• Design and execute performance and load testing strategies
• Develop and maintain performance test scripts and tooling
• Analyse system behaviour across applications, APIs, data and infrastructure
• Identify performance issues, bottlenecks and scalability risks
• Work closely with engineering, delivery and operational teams
• Contribute to capacity planning and usage modelling
• Support the development of highly scalable, resilient and recoverable systems
• Help develop performance engineering capability across the wider technology organisation
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines

🛠️ What we’re looking for

Essential:

• Strong commercial experience in Performance Engineering / Performance Testing
• Hands-on experience with Gatling
• Strong experience working with AWS / public cloud
• Experience developing quality code and working with software development practices
• CI/CD experience, ideally with Jenkins and/or GitHub
• Strong Git experience
• Good understanding of *nix/Linux environments
• Ability to deep-dive into technical issues and drive resolution
• 4+ years’ experience in performance engineering

Nice to have:

• Python
• AWS CloudFormation
• JMeter or other performance testing tools
• SQL
• Log analysis / monitoring tools
• Test automation frameworks
