Principal Engineer – Complex Systems Architecture | AI Intelligence Platform

My client is looking for

My client is looking for a hands-on Principal Engineer who can both architect and build complex distributed systems for an advanced AI Intelligence Platform.

You will own a critical workstream end-to-end – architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production operations – working directly with the CEO and a highly technical engineering team.

Key Requirements:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with production-scale distributed systems.
• Expert Python – Pydantic, asyncio, dataclasses and typing.
• Strong experience with data pipelines, event-driven architecture and fault-tolerant systems.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of Arrow, Parquet, schema evolution, deduplication and data lineage.
• Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong architectural judgement and the ability to mentor senior engineers.
• Must be comfortable coding the systems they architect.

Strong Advantage:

• Dagster / Ray
• Neo4j / TigerGraph / vector databases
• vLLM / Ollama and on-premise LLM deployment
• Air-gapped or sovereign environments
• Intelligence, security or investigative data platforms.

Not suitable for: traditional architects who don’t code or engineers who lack architectural ownership.
