Product Designer

12 Month Contract

Location: Melbourne (Hybrid – 2 in office)

We’re working with one of Australia’s most respected organisations on a major digital transformation program – and they’re looking for a Product Designer who’s as comfortable leading research as they are crafting beautiful, high-fidelity prototypes.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll shape the digital experience for thousands of users and internal stakeholders, working across key areas of the customer lifecycle.

You’ll join a smart, collaborative squad (Design, CX, BA’s, Developers) where your voice matters and design thinking drives the roadmap.

What you’ll be doing

  • Split your time 50/50 between research and UX design – from planning and running user sessions through to creating polished, high-fidelity prototypes in Figma.
  • Turn insights into strategy – you’ll know when to challenge the data, not just follow it.
  • Conduct user testing, stakeholder interviews and research analysis to shape meaningful design decisions.
  • Create intuitive, accessible and visually engaging experiences using existing design systems.
  • Work closely with BA’s and Developers to bring your ideas to life, iterate quickly, and validate through testing.
  • Present and tell the story of your work – bringing Miro boards, insights and journeys into clear, compelling presentations.
  • Contribute to a culture of design thinking and human-centred problem solving across the team.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience as a Product, UX or CX Designer
  • A portfolio showcasing strong UX and research capability, underpinned by great storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, user testing, and translating insights into actionable design.
  • Strong Figma skills – confident producing high-fidelity prototypes and supporting dev handover.
  • Ability to collaborate confidently with stakeholders – you can engage, challenge, and guide discussions strategically.
  • Agency background or exposure to varied industries is a plus – we love people who can adapt quickly and think on their feet.
  • A human approach – you’re curious, articulate, and not afraid to ask the “why” behind the “what.”

The Team & Environment

You’ll be joining a close-knit squad led by experienced design and delivery leaders. The structure includes CX, BAs, Developers, and SMEs to lean on for every project area.

Why you’ll love it

This isn’t a cookie-cutter UX role. It’s a chance to work on meaningful projects that improve how thousands of customers interact with one of Australia’s most forward-thinking institutions.

You’ll get the freedom to think strategically, tell a strong story with your work, and collaborate with great people who genuinely value design.
