We’re working with a major global entertainment business that is looking to add a Post-Production Support & Deployment Specialist to their Sydney team.
This is an interesting opportunity for someone who sits at the intersection of post-production, technology and workflow operations and is looking to move beyond working on individual productions into a broader technical support and workflow-focused role.
The team is growing its global capability and needs someone who can help post-production teams and external vendors keep their workflows, systems and tools running smoothly.
The role
You’ll act as a key technical point of contact for post-production teams, helping to deploy, support and maintain the tools and workflows they rely on to deliver content.
You’ll be involved in:
- Providing first-line technical support to editors, colourists, sound teams and other post-production users
- Troubleshooting post-production workflows, systems and technical issues
- Supporting the deployment and maintenance of post-production tools and services
- Working with external post-production vendors to ensure they can meet technical and delivery requirements
- Managing issues that could potentially impact production schedules and delivery deadlines
- Working closely with internal product, engineering and technology teams to identify and resolve workflow issues
- Helping improve and standardise post-production workflows and processes
- Supporting a broader global team operating across multiple regions
This isn’t a production coordinator role. It’s much more technical and workflow-focused, so we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys understanding how post-production technology works and solving problems when things don’t go to plan.
About you
You’ll ideally come from a post-production house, studio, production company or similar technical post environment, with several years experience working across production and post-production workflows.
We’re particularly interested in people with experience across:
- Avid Media Composer
- Colorfront
- Baselight
- Dailies and media workflows
- Ingest, media management and turnovers
- Post-production workflow design and optimisation
- Technical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Working with external post-production vendors
- Cloud-based or remote post-production workflows
DIT / Digital Imaging Technician experience would be highly regarded, particularly where you’ve worked with modern cloud-based post-production pipelines.
You don’t necessarily need to have come from a traditional “support” or engineering title. If you’re a Senior Assistant Editor, Post-Production Engineer, DIT, Post Production Supervisor or similar and have developed a strong technical understanding of workflows and systems, we’d be interested in talking to you.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong technical understanding of modern post-production workflows
- Is comfortable troubleshooting issues rather than simply escalating them
- Can communicate effectively with both creative/post-production users and technical teams
- Understands the importance of technical accuracy, security and delivery deadlines
- Is comfortable working with external vendors and multiple stakeholders
- Enjoys improving workflows and finding better ways of doing things
- Can work independently but is also comfortable operating as part of a global team
What’s on offer?
- 12-month contract
- Sydney-based
- Hybrid working
- Occasional evening/weekend work may be required as part of the global support model
- Potential on-call requirement, currently expected to be approximately one weekend every 12-15 weeks
- Opportunity to work within a genuinely global post-production technology environment
- Start ASAP
This is a great opportunity for someone who has built their career in post-production and is now looking to take the next step into post-production technology, workflow and operations.
