My client is looking for a skilled Python 3 Developer to join our team on a freelance basis. You’ll be working across a range of products deployed in AWS, helping maintain, secure, and improve existing systems. This role suits someone who’s proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning their work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across multiple products and services using Python 3.
- Keep run books and deployment documentation up to date.
- Perform deployments and security updates in a timely manner.
- Pick up backlog items proactively as prioritised by the squad.
- Write clear and concise release documentation, CAB changes, and run books.
- Maintain and improve product stability, security, and performance.
- Escalate genuine issues proactively while maintaining a self-sufficient approach after onboarding.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python 3.
- Experience working on AWS-deployed products.
- Familiarity with software maintenance, deployments, and security updates.
- Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation and release notes.
- Proactive and independent work style – able to manage tasks without constant direction.
- SFIA level 4 or 5 capability (or equivalent experience), able to deliver quality outcomes with minimal hand-holding.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of Agile environments and backlog management tools (e.g., Jira).
- Background in DevOps or platform engineering.
