Salt is currently on the lookout for an RTE for a client of ours in Utrecht.

Role is for zzp’ers and is paying around 100 euros an hour.

Release Train Engineer (RTE)

As an experienced Release Train Engineer, you are a confident and proactive leader who challenges the status quo to drive continuous improvement. With a strong agile mindset, you coach teams and leaders toward better collaboration, self-organization, and value delivery. You focus on the overall way of working within the ART, creating the conditions for teams to perform and continuously improve.

You help guide the transformation from coordination to collaboration, from deadlines to goals, from control to trust, and from problem-solving for teams to enabling teams to solve their own problems. Together with the core leadership roles, you form the Core Team of a mission-critical ART operating in a complex, 24/7 operational environment with high visibility and responsibility.

In the coming period, your focus will be on strengthening culture, improving cross-team collaboration, and increasing the effectiveness and value delivery of the ART per PI.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and spar with the core team using your seniority and experience
  • Ensure transparency, collaboration, ambition, continuous improvement, and results within the ART
  • Act as a coach and knowledge source for agile ways of working
  • Prepare, facilitate, and evaluate PI planning, system demos, and key ceremonies
  • Analyze and improve processes to enable efficient and predictable value delivery
  • Connect with stakeholders outside the ART and stimulate collaboration
  • Lead and support the Scrum Master team
  • Co-own funnel and portfolio processes together with ART leadership

Requirements

  • HBO / University level of thinking and working
  • 5+ years of experience as a coaching leader in a scaled agile environment
  • Experience as an RTE in multiple organizations
  • Strong experience with organizational change and transformation
  • SAFe and Scrum certifications (e.g. SAFe RTE, SPC, PSM, PAL-E, or equivalent)
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills
  • Comfortable working without hierarchy and making decisions in uncertainty
  • Willing and able to challenge when needed
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language
