Overview
You will join a small specialist team responsible for the university virtual learning environment and associated learning technologies. The focus of the role is hands on development, integrations and improving the core platforms used for teaching, learning and assessment.
The role requires a strong Moodle developer who can work independently, write high quality code and contribute ideas to improve the platform landscape.
Key responsibilities
Develop and enhance Moodle functionality including plugin development and integrations
Work across systems such as Moodle, lecture capture platforms and learning tools
Build and maintain integrations between university systems using APIs
Investigate technical issues and implement fixes across the platform estate
Work closely with internal teams, architects, analysts and vendors
Support improvements to data flows between systems such as student records, timetabling and learning platforms
Contribute to documentation, development standards and best practice
Provide technical expertise across projects and operational work
Ensure secure, stable and scalable services across the learning systems landscape

Learning technology platforms such as lecture capture tools
What they are looking for
Strong Moodle development experience
Experience building plugins, integrations or custom functionality
Experience working with APIs and system integrations
Strong coding standards and ability to work independently
Good communication skills and ability to work with technical and non technical stakeholders
Experience in higher education or learning technology environments is beneficial but not essential
