Senior Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join the growing Back Office Services team of an Australian software company.

You will be responsible for managing the bookkeeping and payroll functions for a portfolio of clients, working remotely with the support of a team managed from Australia.

This role requires someone who is confident with accounting fundamentals, comfortable managing client relationships, and willing to learn a new and specialised software system.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage bookkeeping for assigned clients
• Perform bank and supplier reconciliations
• Process payments, transactions and journals
• Maintain and monitor General Ledger periods
• Prepare reports and provide activity updates to clients
• Process payroll where required
• Reconcile payroll with the General Ledger
• Manage day-to-day client relationships
• Follow up with clients for information required to complete their work
• Keep clients informed of reporting and lodgement deadlines
• Identify and escalate issues when required
• Support process improvements and training

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field
• Strong bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Solid understanding of bank reconciliation, supplier reconciliation, GL and journals
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident communicating directly with clients
• Highly organised and able to manage deadlines
• Comfortable learning new software and systems
• Able to work independently while being part of a remote team
