Salt Recruitment is working with a Local Government body in Central London to recruit an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support the delivery of council-wide business intelligence and reporting.

This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with service leads and corporate stakeholders to deliver high-quality Power BI solutions that support decision-making, service improvement, and organisational change.

The role

You will take ownership of Power BI development across multiple service areas, transforming complex data from a range of council systems into clear, meaningful insights. You will work across the organisation on high-impact projects, including organisational redesign and service transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the design, development, and delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Translating complex business requirements into robust BI solutions.
• Working directly with senior stakeholders across council services and corporate functions.
• Extracting, modelling, and transforming data from multiple council systems.
• Supporting complex, multi-disciplinary projects that drive organisational and cultural change.
• Ensuring reporting outputs are delivered within agreed scope, quality, and budget.
• Producing and maintaining all required documentation.

Essential experience

• Demonstrable experience delivering Power BI solutions within Local Government.
• Strong hands-on Power BI development skills, including data modelling and DAX.
• Experience working with complex, multi-source public sector data.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation or organisational change programmes.

Contract details

• £591 per day. Inside IR35
• 36 hours per week.
• Hybrid working. 4 days remote, 1 day onsite in Central London.
• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.

This role is only open to candidates with proven Local Government experience.
