About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our client’s team as SHEQ Support for a 3-month temporary assignment. This role is critical in supporting our SHEQ Manager across all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Keep workforce compliant and ready by managing and updating training records for all NZ employees, ensuring alignment with NZQA standards, WorkSafe guidelines, and HSWA 2015 regulations.
· Shape the future of safety and quality by creating and rolling out a training strategy that drives compliance, builds competency, and elevates performance.
· Bring safety to life through impactful health & safety communication campaigns that inspire engagement and foster a proactive safety culture.
· Be a key player in operational excellence by supporting day-to-day activities that strengthen SHEQ standards and deliver continuous improvement.
· Champion company certifications by coordinating prequalification submissions and maintaining health & safety management system credentials that meet customer expectations.
Required Experience
· Previous SHEQ-related experience or similar role
· Health & Safety knowledge and/or experience in HSWA 2015, WorkSafe guidelines, and NZQA standards.
· ISO qualifications are a plus.
· Clear communication skills in writing and delivering health & safety policies with good ability to engage employees and promote a proactive safety environment
· Strong attention to detail and precision in documentation and reporting
· Excellent administration skills in maintaining accurate training and compliance records.
· Proactive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to work independently.
· Analytical thinking skills
· MS Excel with lots of reports (Pivot tables/charts)
