Site Reliability Engineer

Salt is currently hiring a SRE/Platform Engineer for a client of ours.

The role is 12 months, B2b contract, fully remote.

We’re looking for a hands-on Platform Engineer to help build and modernise scalable, highly available NoSQL platform services in AWS.

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and operate distributed NoSQL infrastructure, primarily using DynamoDB.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and automated workflows across multi-account AWS environments.
• Build self-service platform capabilities, improve observability, and streamline fleet-wide upgrades and operations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Explore AI-assisted engineering and agentic automation to reduce manual effort.

What we’re looking for:

• 3-5 years of experience with production distributed systems.
• Strong AWS, Terraform, Python (or Go/Java), and Linux skills.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL or distributed data technologies such as DynamoDB, Cassandra, or similar.
• Experience with SRE practices, incident response, and production troubleshooting.
• A strong automation mindset and a track record of delivering measurable engineering improvements.

Nice to have: Deep DynamoDB expertise, internal platform engineering, Kubernetes, large-scale migrations, and AI-assisted development workflows.

Role details:

• Remote | 40 hours per week
• Full overlap with Netherlands business hours required
• Start as soon as possible
