Six reasons you should be considering contingent talent!

Blog post by Claire Baker, Practice Lead, Auckland

In the ever-changing demanding business environment, could talent on demand (“contingent”) be the magic bullet? We all know there is no single solution, however the “contingent” workforce is proven time and again to be the practical solution for business.

The global trend in using this workforce is hurtling towards 40% of the total workforce and is expected to rise to 50% in the next two years.

You may need contingent talent for a number of reasons, revenue growth, software implementations, merging systems, covering a permanent person who has been released to handle a special project, filling in until a permanent person is found, carrying out research, leave cover, the list goes on….

So, what are the benefits of tapping into this market?

Cost Saving: You have the person on board for as long as you need them.

Flexibility: Should the requirement change, you can re-think your resource plan.

Specialist Skills:  The talent has the required skill set.

Agility:  Contingent talent is adaptable to new environments, it is the norm for them!

Efficiency: The talent is well qualified to do the job. They can hit the ground running!

Ideas:  If you need a fresh approach to a problem contingent staff can bring a fresh pair of eyes.

So, the next time you are considering what the best solution is for your business requirement, think contingent!!
