Business Analyst – Regulatory Reform
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in regulatory change, customer operations, and large-scale business transformation within the energy sector. You’ll play a pivotal role in translating industry reforms into clear business and technology changes, ensuring the organisation remains compliant, efficient, and customer focused.

- $800.00 a day Inclusive of superannuation
- Exposure to working alongside one of Australia’s largest energy providers.
- 12-month Day rate contract. Most likely to be extended ongoingly.
THE ROLE:
You’ll take ownership of understanding and interpreting upcoming energy reforms, assessing their impacts on customer business areas, and ensuring these requirements are accurately delivered across technology and operations teams. This role is ideal for a BA who enjoys structure, traceability, regulatory clarity, and end-to-end problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end traceability between reforms, rules, obligations, and the internal process/people/technology changes required
- Structure, lead, and facilitate Business Impact Assessments (BIA) across customer-facing and operational teams
- Collaborate closely with SMEs to identify implications, gaps, risks, and dependencies related to upcoming reforms
- Ensure all Features, Epics, and User Stories accurately reflect reform requirements and business needs
- Provide delivery assurance during execution and implementation to ensure solutions meet regulatory outcomes
- Produce clear and concise documentation – impact assessments, traceability maps, requirements, and validation materials
- Act as a key link between business stakeholders, delivery squads, and compliance teams

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the energy sector or other regulated industries
- Strong background in regulatory reform, compliance change, or customer-impact programs
- Demonstrated experience running Business Impact Assessments and shaping end-to-end traceability
- Deep understanding of translating rules/obligations into business and technology requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across operations, technology, and compliance
- Experience providing assurance across Features, Epics, and User Stories in Agile environments
- CBAP, Agile BA, or similar business analysis certifications highly regarded
