Senior DevAx Engineer – Developer Acceleration

We’re looking for a Senior DevAx Engineer to improve the tools, platforms and engineering practices used by development teams across a large technology environment.

This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on Developer Acceleration, with strong exposure to GitHub, AWS, Python, TypeScript and modern development practices.

The role

You’ll help shape and continuously improve the developer platform, working closely with engineering teams to make their day-to-day development experience better.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Improving developer productivity through better tools, platforms and processes
• Evolving and maintaining a heavily utilised GitHub platform
• Developing automation and tooling across AWS
• Assessing and introducing new tools, technologies and capabilities
• Providing technical guidance and hands-on assistance to engineering teams
• Helping teams adopt engineering best practices and become more self-sufficient
• Uplifting code quality and development standards
• Working closely with Application Security, Cloud Platform and Engineering teams
• Building APIs, integrations and automated solutions
• Exploring how AI and emerging technologies can improve software development
• Keeping the developer platform modern, scalable and continuously evolving

About you

You’ll be a Senior Software Engineer / Developer with strong coding skills and a genuine interest in developer productivity and engineering excellence.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong professional experience with GitHub and AWS
• Excellent Python and TypeScript skills
• A strong backend/software development background
• Experience building APIs and integrations
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
• Strong AWS experience across services such as EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC and CloudFormation
• Experience with Docker/containerisation
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON and XML
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
• A passion for learning, experimenting with new technology and sharing knowledge with others
