Office Attendance: Monday and either Wednesday or Thursday in the office, with the third working day likely to be Friday
Rate: £21.07 per hour

Role Overview
A London local authority is seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to provide administrative and operational support within its Adult Social Services function.
The role will support senior managers, team leaders and wider service teams, helping ensure business support processes, systems and administrative activity are delivered effectively.
This is a part-time position working 18 hours per week across three days and will include systems administration, data entry, purchase orders, reporting, document preparation, handling enquiries and supporting smaller projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Administrative Support
· Liaise with Senior Managers and Team Leaders to understand the administrative requirements of different service areas
· Respond to changing operational requirements and provide effective business support across the department
· Support the day-to-day delivery and coordination of Business Support functions
· Help ensure appropriate administrative cover is maintained across service areas
· Provide responsive support to managers and teams within Adult Social Services
Systems & Data Management
· Maintain electronic and manual business systems, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and readily available
· Accurately input information into Liquidlogic
· Scan and upload documents onto relevant systems
· Assist with the extraction, collation and reporting of information from electronic and manual systems
· Maintain accurate records and support effective information management across the service
Finance & Procurement Administration
· Raise purchase orders for goods and services
· Use Oracle Fusion to process purchase orders on behalf of managers and teams
· Ensure financial and procurement administration is completed accurately and in accordance with agreed processes
Documentation & Communication
· Prepare and produce presentations, reports and a wide range of business documents
· Use a variety of software applications and digital tools, including AI tools, to support administrative activity
· Screen and manage telephone calls on behalf of the senior management team
· Respond to enquiries and requests where appropriate, escalating matters when necessary
Service & Project Support
· Maintain a good overall understanding of the activities and priorities of the Adult Social Services Department
· Develop effective working relationships with internal teams and relevant external organisations
· Remain aware of emerging priorities and areas of particular concern across the service
· Project manage smaller projects in support of the Management Team
· Support managers with ad hoc operational and administrative requirements
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
· Previous experience within a Business Support, Administration or similar support position
· Strong organisational and administrative skills
· Experience supporting managers and senior stakeholders
· Ability to manage competing priorities within a busy working environment
· Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
· Experience maintaining electronic business systems and records
· Experience producing reports, presentations and professional documentation
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Confidence dealing with telephone enquiries and stakeholder requests
· Ability to work independently and use initiative
· Strong general IT skills, including Microsoft Office or equivalent applications
· Experience using Liquidlogic would be advantageous
· Experience using Oracle Fusion or similar finance/procurement systems would be advantageous
· Previous local government, Adult Social Care or wider public sector experience would be beneficial
