Data Engineer

6-Month Contract | Melbourne (Hybrid) | NV1 Clearance Required

We’re partnering with a leading organisation delivering critical technology initiatives and are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build and optimise modern data platforms that support business-critical analytics and operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with large-scale datasets, modern cloud technologies and secure environments where your work will have a genuine impact.

What you’ll be doing:

As the Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering robust, scalable data solutions. You’ll be responsible for:

• Designing, building and maintaining high-performance data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Developing data models and structures that support reporting, analytics and operational decision-making.
• Delivering data migration, transformation and integration activities across multiple systems.
• Ensuring data quality, integrity and governance through validation and monitoring.
• Optimising data platforms for scalability, performance and reliability.
• Collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Supporting secure data integration across multiple platforms and environments.
• Producing clear documentation for data pipelines, architectures and data flows.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of strong engineering capability and experience working in secure, enterprise environments.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience building and supporting enterprise data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Experience working within PSPF, DISP and/or IRAP accredited environments.
• Strong data integration experience including mapping, transformation and orchestration.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• A solid understanding of data modelling, governance and lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience within Telecommunications or Government environments will be highly regarded.
• Current NV1 Security Clearance is essential.
