Data Engineer

Contract Length: 1 Year (View to extend)

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop data marts, stored procedures, and scheduled data transformation workflows.
• Design data models and customer 360 views to support analytics, ML, and AI use cases.
• Build reusable data products using banking datasets.
• Support the planned transition from the existing Microsoft database environment to Amazon Redshift.
• Some resources should also have strong Data Architecture or advanced Data Modelling capabilities.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on SQL development, including complex queries and stored procedures.
• Experience in data mart development, data warehousing, and data modelling.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar databases.
• Amazon Redshift knowledge is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Claude is an advantage.

Mandatory Banking Domain Experience:

• Retail Banking: Accounts, deposits, loans, cards, transactions, and customer data.
• SME / Business Banking: SME lending, credit facilities, and business customer data.
• Corporate Banking: Corporate lending, credit limits, risk exposure, letters of credit, and trade finance.

Expected Resource Split:

• Approximately 3 Data Engineers with Retail Banking experience.
• Approximately 2-3 Data Engineers with SME / Corporate Banking experience.
• They should have additional Data Architecture and advanced Data Modelling capabilities.

Banking domain experience is mandatory. Candidates must have hands-on experience working with banking data, not just general data engineering experience.
