The role:

• The role reports to the Head of Strategy and Architecture, who handles 6 portfolios and will be working within a team of 7 people. The purpose of this role is to support the Data Architecture stream in ensuring organisations strategic goals are optimised by evolving effective Enterprise Data Management using enterprise data standards for data warehousing, data lake, data management and other corporate databases. The key for this role is to unlock the value of data within the organisation by providing expertise, platforms, and capabilities.
• The Data Engineer plays a key role in co-designing, developing, maintaining, and improving enterprise data assets, systems, and data integration pipelines to support the data strategy of the business.
• Working closely with an external vendor and the Principal Architect.

The ideal candidate:

· Data Engineer with 2yrs to 9yrs of experience with solid background in data engineering.

· Python, SQL, Azure Synapse (non-negotiable)

· Someone who knows how to code in Azure Synapse, even if it is 1 project, more the better along with other Azure data platform technologies.

· Good to have – Data lakes, Delta table, Azure integration tools, Pyspark, a bit of Fabric, if possible. PowerBI for data visualisation.

· Azure Synapse with even a small exposure to Fabric would be great fit.

· Someone who is looking towards commitment and stability and not have a job hopper mindset.
