Salt is currently hiring a Data Engineer(GenAI) – for a client of ours in Amsterdam.
Role is freelance(zzp/kvk) for 12 months, paying 100 euros an hour.
We are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer II to design and develop scalable analytical solutions supporting GenAI applications, including search & discovery, AI assistants/chatbots, customer support AI solutions, and LLM evaluation workflows.
This role focuses on analytics, data modeling, experimentation, monitoring, and insight generation. You will work closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to transform complex datasets into actionable business insights and reliable analytical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage analytical data domains end-to-end
- Design and maintain scalable data models and reusable analytical datasets
- Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and monitoring
- Build dashboards, monitoring tables, and reporting solutions
- Analyze experiments, model performance, and LLM evaluation results
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets, including AI-generated outputs and application telemetry
- Support data validation and exploratory analysis before product releases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify analytical opportunities and improve decision-making
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or related roles
- Strong SQL and experience with analytical databases/data warehouses
- Hands-on experience with Python and PySpark
- Strong understanding of data modeling and modern analytics practices
- Experience building scalable, reusable analytical pipelines and transformations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI/ML products, LLM evaluation workflows, or model analysis
- Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, Streamlit, Airflow, or Argo
- Experience working with unstructured data and AI application telemetry
- Exposure to GenAI or large language model ecosystems
