Finance Functional Design Lead (Workday) – SC Eligible

We are currently supporting a major transformation programme requiring two experienced Finance Functional Design Leads to drive the functional finance design across a large-scale ERP implementation.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a complex programme environment, shaping financial processes and ensuring alignment between business requirements and system design.

Role Overview

As the Finance Functional Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading the finance functional design workstream within an ERP implementation (ideally Workday). You will engage senior stakeholders, facilitate large design workshops, and ensure robust, scalable financial process design aligned to programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end finance functional design within an ERP transformation programme

• Facilitate and run design workshops (20+ attendees) to validate and confirm functional requirements

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional design documentation

• Provide subject matter expertise across core finance processes (GL, P2P, O2C, R2R, etc.)

• Engage and influence senior stakeholders across finance and programme leadership

• Ensure alignment between finance operations and ERP system capabilities

• Support governance, documentation, and design sign-off processes

Key Requirements

• Strong finance background – ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• Proven experience leading finance functional design within ERP implementations

• Ideally hands-on experience with Workday Financials

• Demonstrated ability to run large-scale workshops and drive consensus

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience operating within complex transformation programmes

• Active SC clearance preferred (or eligibility to obtain)

Contract Details

• Outside IR35

• Predominantly remote, with occasional face-to-face workshops

• Initial contract until 3rd August

• Strong likelihood of extension (client operating on 6-month Statements of Work aligned to programme timelines)

• Immediate start preferred
